This worked fine on this same system running Windows 7 Home Premium, but Windows 10 Home does not see the device either in Device Manager or Disk Manger or File Explorer. All of my movies, music, documents, etc. are on this drive. It works fine on any Windows 7 system I have access to, but not my current Windows 10 desktop.

I would like to install on internal, but I also need to run RAID for my data drives for redundancy. I want to us SSD for my OS drive for obvious reasons (speed). But the TRIM command to clean up SSD's is not functional through RAID controllers. I'm wondering if Windows 7 will install and operate from a eSATA drive?

May 24, 2019 · I've used eSATA drives with Windows 10 for years on two computers. After upgrading to 1903 the drives initialize fine but do not appear in the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" icon in the taskbar. In Disk Management clicking on the drive, selecting Properties, Policies shows no drive removal options.

Feb 8, 2013 · This drive connects just fine on my windows 7 laptop to the eSATA port. It is listed by Microsoft as compatible with Win 8. I have another drive holder that I recently bought to transfer data from an old hard drive. That will connect to the eSATA port no problem. So the drive works, is compatible, and the port works.
