Silky zubat arborist or sugoi 360 - The BuzzBoard
Aug 4, 2019 · The Zubat is a great saw but I am missing the Sugoi, if for no other reason the 420 version is a curved handsaw with a straight scabbard that allowed it to fit in either direction. Now with the zubat if the saw or scabbard gets turned around during use, the saw gets stuck halfway in the scabbard due to the curves going the opposite way.
Sugoi or Zubat? - The BuzzBoard
Jul 24, 2010 · Zubat has been by my side, actually, on my knee, for years. If I have a tree with a few large cuts I'll bring along the Sugoi. If the large cuts are low and inside the tree, which is usually the case, I'll have the S sent up just like I would a chainsaw for the larger cuts.

Jul 3, 2009 · What Silky blades will fit into a Zubat handle? It would be nice to carry a different style blade, and not have to spend the dough on all the handles. Jul 9, 2009
Silky hayauchi, zubat or ARS/Stihl polesaw | The BuzzBoard
Nov 4, 2021 · The Zubat does break blades if you are forcing the cut on the up stroke or it bindes. The Hayauchi is a tank but care must be taken so it doesn't get bent or dented. The Zubat flies with me in the lift.
Handsaw choices - The BuzzBoard
Feb 15, 2014 · The blade tip broke again not long after that. The plastics also felt cheap. I wasn't impressed. It cut good while it lasted but no better than a Zubat. Sugoi: This saw is amazing in terms of cutting. It fits on my leg pretty well but I wish they would make a Zubat length Sugoi. Either way, the cutting ability of this saw makes up for the extra ...
Finally I get some Silky, but... which one? | The BuzzBoard
Mar 6, 2016 · When I do pruning climbs I keep a Zubat 330 strapped on my left calf and a Sugoi 360 on my left hip. With the addition of the Sugoi to my harness, I find that my chainsaw stays on the ground more and more. Instead of three saws I would pick two and extra blades my self. Or maybe the Hayauchi pole saw, I love mine.

Silky Tsurugi? | The BuzzBoard
Jan 20, 2012 · Good point swingdude, the thicker blades of the Ibuki and Sugoi mean more effort is needed to remove more wood from the saw kerf unlike the Natanoko and Zubat with their narrower blades. If the Tsurugi has a thick blade like the Ibuki and Sugoi to compensate for the narrowness then it aint the saw for me.
Straight or curved? - The BuzzBoard
Feb 21, 2007 · The Zubat is lighter, and I have found that due to curved design of the blade you tend to apply your force along the middle 70% of the blade rather than 100% of the blade you get with a Natanoko. I like the feel of the Natanoko, it is weightier than the Zubat and has a nice balanced controllability to it.
