Zildjian K Heavy Ride - [DFO] Drum Forum
Jun 10, 2009 · I have a 20 k heavy 2900 grams I bought new around 1998,It is not overpowering and bright like a heavy aax, aa, a ,rock ride, It is darker and dryer, with some k shimmer, mine has some wash, but because of it's weight it cuts thru well,I use it on classic rock and high volume situations, but it works well at lower volumes with 5-a wood and lighter sticks, I will tell you mine has changed over the ...
Paiste vs. Zildjian - 22" Dark Medium Rides - [DFO] Drum Forum
Aug 1, 2006 · • Zildjian K. Dark Medium Ride, 2879 grams I figure this is a fair comparison, since the weight difference between the cymbals is a mere 56 grams. Ideally I would've been able to do some playing along with music accompaniment, too, so they could be heard in a musical context, but I'm not set-up for that.
How to install Zildjian rivets - [DFO] Drum Forum
Jul 16, 2010 · I bought a factory Zildjian sizzle in the 60's. Still have it plus one more. I never could figure out how they would fall out. Seems I would just notice one was missing. I bought Zildjians 12 pack. bought a rivet spreader at Loews, but it would …
Old Stamp K Zildjian HH Question - Was I Duped?
Jan 8, 2018 · The mistake is ever applying (or assuming) Sabian/ American Zildjian size standards (even today check a random Bosphorus) to Turkish born cymbals. Some believe it adds to their character; a 22" being slightly under a 19" being slightly over ETC. Frankly you don't need exact inches. Unless you're laying carpet..
When did Zildjian stop hand hammering cymbals? - [DFO] Drum …
Dec 23, 2012 · Zildjian cymbals are still hand hammered the same way they always have been, for Pete's sake! But if you want to get bogged down in definitions of "hand hammered", go ahead. The plant employs the use of large hammering machines which strike the cymbal with the same force each time, creating hammer marks with great precision and consistency.
Amir / Amir II - Timelines? | Page 2 | [DFO] Drum Forum
Aug 18, 2023 · Zildjian definitely got B8 right in 1982-1984 with the early AMIRs. The quality was there and they sounded quite good. There was no reason for them to not continue unless the AMIRs were too good for the money invested and were cutting into Zildjian's bottom line. The early AMIRs were worthy competitors to the Paiste 4o4 & 5o5 lines.
Zildjian k Hybrid ride - opinions? | [DFO] Drum Forum
Aug 5, 2005 · They can be both bright and dark depending on where and how you play them. They cut through the mix while at the same time blending in with the mix. When I do eventually cave and get a set of Zildjians (I would like to have a full set of Sabian, Zildjian and Paiste), this series will be the one I go with.
What do you think of practice/low volume cymbals? - [DFO] Drum …
Jan 22, 2014 · I have the Zildjian LV80 set. The 20" ride, 14" Hats and 18" crash/ride are fantastic. The 16" crash is "meh" and I probably would have gotten another 18" if purchasing again. I think they originally started out as their e-cymbals and they found out that drummers were using them for low volume applications. They do this job really well.
What is the Be-Bop ink stamp with A Zildjians?
Jun 1, 2015 · I've seen Avedis Zildjian cymbals with the ink stamp "Be-Bop" and "BEBOP" in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. One has a bigger bell and a flatter profile (40's). Others have looked the same as any other "A", but an ink stamp Be-Bop on the cymbal.
