Jun 20, 2010 · If your getting fuel out the bleed screw on the on engine filter, try checking the exhaust elbow as Weinie suggests. When was the last time you changed the exhaust elbow ? Yanmar recommends checking every 250 hrs. and replacing every 500. I have a different elbow on my 3GM30 that only makes it 300-400 hrs before clogging.

Jan 1, 2017 · Use the correct orange coolant as the 3YM30 heat exchanger will clog with silicates if you don’t, due to having a very fine capillary. Check with at any GM/Chevrolet dealer. Flush out the exchanger and remove it first to remove any foreign objects like bits of impeller blades that restrict flow in the raw water circuit.

Jun 13, 2009 · It was just a YSM10, 1 cylinder engine but I think that it is a characteristic of Yanmar's to blow black smoke at full throttle. The above post was right about the engine being overloaded. I recall that even the Yanmar owner's manual mentioned that if the engine blows black soot that it is overloaded & you must throttle back until it stops.
