Swivel the turret 90* off center,crank the ram all the way out.Remove the depth stop rod,then the depth stop block.Then remove the quill pinion counterbalance spring,then prepare to remove the quill pinion.Put one hand under the quill and remove the quill pinion,quill should slip out the bottom.

    Sep 29, 2012 · I have both the Sieg X3 and SX3 mills and am very satisfied with them. The "back-lash" can be "end-play" between the table ends and the collars (1 each end) and/or and "rock/ing" of the lead-screw nut on the cross-slide - all of which are or can be cumulative (they add up) - to any back-lash between the lead-screw and the nut.

    Nov 15, 2009 · my full sized XLO doesn't have a feed even half of that....feed rate has to take into account the machines removal rate capabilities. that's over 006 chip load - i thought 6 ipm was aggressive. a chip is formed along a shear plane ahead of the tool.
