Often, what the small minority wants to keep, prevents the masses from being interested. And Microsoft was aiming for a HUGE audience.

Feb 10, 2007 · I really found it very interesting. The part that interested me the most was patching Win98 installation with WinME files. The question I have is this. Would I retain the capability to boot to dos & whether multiple dos boxes would be available. The only reason I prefer WinME over win98 on older machines is the better built in driver support.

Aug 22, 2006 · I found WinME to be buggy, with frequent soft crashes (by soft I mean rebooting clears the problem, though unsaved data is lost.) There are too many unstoppable background processes, and retains most of the disadvantages of Win98. What I like about Win98 is that it can be configured to have the fewest number of background processes.
