But if you build your own PC, you’ll most likely see "Standard hardware security not supported", which doesn’t look good. This is easily fixable by changing some settings in the UEFI (BIOS). Back up your data first.

Aug 1, 2023 · So I have a windows 11 device. I have TPM 2.0, Security processor, Secure boot, DEP, AMD-SVM, and UEFI MAT enabled. All of the security requirements. Yet, it still doesnt let me access the device security menu, because its still not supported?

Nov 12, 2023 · Enabling Secure Boot won't mess with your data. It's just a security feature to prevent unauthorized OS from booting. Just hit up the BIOS, find the Secure Boot option, and flip it on. For DEP, UEFI MAT, and SMM, those are usually in the security settings or advanced settings in BIOS. Just dig around a bit, you'll find 'em. Updating UEFI BIOS?

Can't get Secure Boot to show up because I don't know what DEP and UEFI MAT are. Intel 8600k and Asrock Z370m pro4. EDIT: had to convert my Windows install drive from MBR to GPT. Else I can't force UEFI in BIOS and just get a boot loop. Disabling CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is needed in Asrock BIOS to force UEFI.

Jun 28, 2021 · Most systems do not have UEFI MAT, nor memory integrity, nor SMM and yet they all are qualifying for Windows 11. Plenty of systems do not meet "standard hardware security", but they will run Windows 11 officially.

Feb 12, 2020 · However I didn't realised that CSM was enabled by default in the BIOS/UEFI settings when I installed windows 10 on my 500gb M.2 NVME SSD. That means my windows 10 installation is now using the old bios legacy MBR disk instead of the new UEFI GPT disk system. UEFI Windows 10 on a GPT disk drive has better security than the old MBR bios.
