Sep 15, 2017 · How is Str Monk not just a worse monk? Normal monk can dump Str, or at least make it a lower priority with few downsides. Meanwhile, Str monk needs just as much STR as it would have DEX, except in return it gets worse armor (even Tortles), worse initiative, less skill bonuses and an inferior saving throw boosted. Oh, and gets worse missile snaring.

Oct 21, 2019 · So the tortle monk can choose to make unarmed strikes for 1d4 bludgeoning (punch, kick) or for 1d4 slashing (claw and bite). And yes, monk class and tortle race combine very well and make some of the best STRonks. You could even get your party to make tortle monks of different subclasses and be the teenage mutant ninja tortles.

So my suggestion, if you want a monk with a Huge Junk: Do Tortle Monk, pick Kensei for the +2AC, and eventually take 4 levels of Barbarian for Rage.
