Jul 8, 2009 · I haven't seen this technique locally as most I see is small acreage logging using skidders. Probably used farther back in the hills. I guess I learned something today. I thought tong tossing was when a blacksmith lets the reigns on his tongs get to hot and he tries to pick them up and decides to put them down quickly. Thanks for the video. Ed.

Feb 15, 2011 · We actually have two tong throwers - both on CAT 320s. They work real well in the intermountain region because the ground is so broke up. We can run up the ridges with the "jammers" and toss the tongs down into the draws.
