316L vs 316Ti Stainless Steel - What's the Difference
Jan 28, 2023 · 316L and 316Ti are two types of stainless steel that share many similarities, but also have some key differences. Learn more about them in this article.
316Ti Stainless Steel-Introduction, Applications, Data Sheet
316Ti is a type of austenitic stainless steel; it is a derivate of 316 stainless steel with titanium stabilization. In theory, 316Ti is to type 316 what 321 is to type 304. Titanium is added to 316 stainless so as to enhance intergranular corrosion resistance following heating under the temperature range of 425-815C.
316Ti Stainless Steel: Composition, Properties
316Ti stainless steel is an Austenitic grade containing a small amount of titanium element based on 316 alloy, titanium content is typically around 0.5%, and adding the titanium can stabilize the structure of the 316 at temperatures over 800°C. it prevents carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries and protects the metal from corrosion.

1.4571 / AISI 316 Ti is an austenitic chromium-nickel-stainless steel, stabilized with titanium. | Good corrosion resistance to low content of hydrochloric and organic acids.
Stainless Steel Alloy 316Ti Datasheet - Fine Tubes
316Ti (UNS S31635) is a titanium stabilised version of 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The 316 alloys are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304.
Comparison of 316, 316L & 316Ti Stainless Steel Types
The role of the titanium alloy addition is discussed and is compared with the alternative low carbon 316 types. Comparisons of elevated temperature mechanical strength, pitting corrosion resistance, mechanical polishing and weldability are also made. AISI 316Ti - International Designation AISI - Stahlhandel Gröditz …
AISI 316Ti is a stainless, austenitic titanium stabilized chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel. Titanium stabilization makes the AISI 316Ti more susceptible to pitting corrosion and has less resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. The maximum application temperature can be increased with the titanium alloy.
Choosing between AISI-316l and AISI-316ti stainless steel
Global stainless steel giant Acerinox delves into the key differences between two well-known types of stainless steel, AISI-316L and AISI-316Ti, commonly used in applications for: water filtration, deonization, mold release, and solvent applications, to name just a few.
