Hi! This is Thea! I’m a picturebook maker as well as an illustrator. Having grown up in a small city by the sea, much of my childhood was spent playing on the beach and in the salty waters. When stepping into the drawing world, I naturally bring along this playful spirit, fueled by a passion for exploring new possibilities.

Thea Lu is a picture book maker and illustrator, living in Shanghai. Growing up in a small city in China by the sea, she spent most of her childhood playing on the wild beach and the salty water.

Two parallel stories describe men who live different lives. Dan, the owner of a small cafe, lives Here, in a town by the sea, while Aki lives There, on a boat on the water. On each spread, Dan is featured on the left-hand side and Aki on the right.
