Sep 21, 2008 · Yes our SWAT team is picky, but I would venture to guess so is any SWAT team in the country. The standards and tests to get in are very difficult and only a handful pass, male or female. Not true about "most candidates being ex-something special" military wise. I know a bunch of our SWAT guys that aren't ex-military, athough some others are.

We dont have SWAT...the closest thing we have is the mobile field force. They usually do riot control type stuff. One of their gigs is working the infamous Chapel Hill Halloween party. They do get some cool training and have some awesome equipment.
