Stanley Armour Dunham (March 23, 1918 – February 8, 1992) was the maternal grandfather of Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States. He and his wife Madelyn Payne Dunham raised Obama from the age of 10 in Honolulu , Hawaii.

Stan’s career, and life, has always centered around his love of creating. At the age of 30 he took his first carpentry class and his love of woodworking took hold. While his classmates were perfecting dovetail joints, Stan dreamt outside the drawer boxes.
