SP Scarlet and Daylight Orange long hood, with a black roof, trucks, fuel tank, pilots and plows. The entire nose was painted all red, including the top, the sides and the front. Lettering on both sides was white and remained stacked, rather than 7399's all in one line lettering.

Jun 4, 1995 · According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 7342 was built in April 1966 by EMD as a model SD40, builders number 31551, SP 8470, SP Class EF630-1. This locomotive was upgraded in Dec. 1980 emerging as SP 7342 EMD SD40R, SP Class EF630R-1.
