Jan 21, 2017 · D&RGW 3086 was repainted to SP 3086 in July 1992; it was the first of a total of 23 former D&RGW units to receive SP paint, and wore the later, large version of the new SP speed lettering.

GRWR 3086 switches up covered hoppers in the Certainteed industrial track at Social Circle. Train G10 crosses Alcovy Mountain Rd. in the Pleasant Valley community where the covered hoppers will be placed in the "Church Track" for forward car storage. This type of car storage is a staple of business for the Great Walton RR.

An excursion down through Pomona and Ontario yesterday unearthed the following gems. SP 3086, the first D&RGW unit repainted to SP was working the Ontario side of the old line to Chino (long ago stub-ended) along with a GP60.
