We compared the SLAVIA to the brand new FESTKA SCALATORE, the latest model made by an ambitious high-end bicycle manufacturer based in Prague. In just a few days, FESTKA’s co-owner Michael Moureček and the SLAVIA replica-builder Vladimír Vidim are going to participate in L’Étape du Tour.

Vladimír Vidim, a fan of vintage bicycles, is now rebuilding their third model from 1896, which also happened to be the first SLAVIA racing bike. He is keen to ride it at this year's L’Étape du Tour – a 135-kilometre Alpine section of the Tour de France that is open to the public.

SLAVIA was the name of bicycles made by ŠKODA when the carmaker first came into being: two gentlemen, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, founded a bicycle-building company in 1895, then progressed to motorbikes and ultimately, the first car, and the rest is, well, history.

We can assert that the SLAVIA name is really very famous and important brand for bicycles, motorcycles and cars production in Czech lands. Only three SLAVIA bicycles are survivors to this time. The four bicycles where we are sure of originality and clear origin.
