Aug 9, 2023 · Simeulue’s main town is called Sinabang, located around a 15-minute drive from the airport. Here you’ll find local markets, coffee shops and warungs lining the streets, as well as a large hospital.

There is one ‘big’ city which is Sinabang, here you can find all local food, several grocery stores, a very nice market and the one I like the best: the local fish market (ask our manager when these markets are open).

By far the fastest way is to take a plane from Kuala Namu International Airport (KNO) Medan, to Lasikin Sinabang Airport (SMG) Simeulue. Wings Air and Susi Air are flying a couple of times a week to and from Simeulue. The other option is to take a ferry from Singkil Aceh (west Sumatra) to the harbor of Sinabang Simeulue.
