Sheltergod “Shell” Thropp is the younger brother of the witches Elphaba and Nessarose, who later comes to be known as His Sacredness, the Emperor Apostle of Oz after the deposition of the Scarecrow. He is an antagonist in Gregory Maguire's Wicked Years.

The Emerald City is now under the rule of Shell Thropp, the younger brother of Elphaba, while Munchkinland has seceded from the rest of Oz's union and the strife continues as Oz falls into a drought and Munchkinland has the only large body of water.

Shell Thropp/The Emperor Apostle: Elphaba's half brother, Shell is a fop and gigolo (and perhaps a sex addict). He becomes Emperor of Oz after the assassination of the Scarecrow.

Shell Thropp is the youngest of the three Thropp siblings, and the brother of Elphaba and Nessarose. Their mother dies giving birth to him. Although he is never actually seen in Wicked, Elphaba says that he would have been their mother's favorite, because he was a boy.

However, after an "unfortunate accident involving a beaker of lighter fluid", the Scarecrow was replaced as Throne Minister by Shell Thropp. Later on, Shell crowned himself "Emperor Apostle of Oz"; having done this through a force of piety and a sacred election.

Shell is always running around like some cool super spy, fighting the good fight against the Wizard and being heroic and exciting. Compared to the rest of his family, Shell might actually be one of the best adjusted Thropps.
