Dear SGSU Members, A warm welcome all to the 70th Annual Society of Government Service Urologists, James C. Kimbrough Urological Seminar in Norfolk, Virginia. We have an exciting and robust academic program planned while maintaining our important SGSU traditions.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, SGSU meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to SGSU to use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities. .

During the years the SGSU was managed by Tibby Stevenson, and to a lesser degree by Preston Littrell, the organizational processes were less rigorous than the current ones, especially related to financial matters, like the signature on the annual IRS filings.

Mar 27, 2025 · The SGSU is pleased to announce that it has established and funded its very own Resident Scholarship Fund. As a result of a Board decision at the 2025 meeting in Memphis, the SGSU will be supporting 4 Residents in total with $2,000 each to be used for travel to the 2026 Kimbrough Meeting.

HISTORY OF THE SGSU In the early years of the annual military urology seminar, which was named after James Kimbrough in 1957, the standard practice for decades was that the SGSU leader for that particular year was the chairman of Urology at the sponsoring military institution for the upcoming Kimbrough meeting.
