SEWA Bharat is an all-India federation of SEWA Institutions that extends direct support to institutions serving SEWA-affiliated women workers in over 8 states of India. SEWA Bharat emerged out of the need to address the SEWA movement’s challenges with geographical expansion and coordination.

SEWA Bharat is part of the national SEWA movement. Established in 1984, it is a national federation of SEWA organizations of women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat emerged out of the need to address the SEWA movement’s challenges with geographical expansion and coordination.

With an aim to build a national identity of the SEWA movement, SEWA Bharat was established in 1984 as a federation of SEWA organizations across the country. It supports and facilitates the functioning of various SEWA organizations to build women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, and health. .

Sewa Bharti strives to uplift the deprived, neglected, and suffering segments of society through education, healthcare, self-reliance, and social cohesion.
