Service bay reentry - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Sep 21, 2018 · Assuming a pure stock game: place an Mk1 pod. Attach an Mk16 parachute on top, a 1.25m service bay below, and a 1.25m heatshield under the bay. Drain the pod monoprop. Then using the offset gizmo in absolute mode, shift the service bay one 'tick' up, leaving no gap between the edge of the pod and the service bay.
How do you use the service bay? - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Apr 28, 2015 · Service bay, probe and batteries inside, nose cone on top, and rest of the rocket below. Attach a couple of solar panels on the sides of the service bay and you get a nice simple rocket. Oh - I like that - have some rep. Very neat way of building a streamlined rocket before unlocking fairings.
How do you use the service bay? - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Apr 28, 2015 · Used a small mono tank with the thinnest probe on top inside a small service bay. By the looks of it, it shouldnt clip - attached the mono at the bottom and probe at the top and visually it fits perfectly. Except it doesn't, I think, as the mono tank wants desperately to get out of the bay. It will stop bouncing if I open up the bay though.

Thanks, Service Bay! - Kerbal Space Program Forums
May 19, 2015 · Heh, got krakened last night with the smaller service bay on a probe a few times. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the issue because the entire upper section of the rocket was under fairings. 11k up, I start making a gentle turn and BOOM. Service bay has collided with fairing. Every time. The fairing was 2.5m, and the bay 1.25m - that's quite a jump.

Apr 29, 2015 · I'm puzzled by some odd behavior of science equipment stowed in the new Service Bay. Oct 15, 2016 · Additionally, they could be used as a larger, better service bay for use with science experiments, communication modules, and everything else people want to move around the galaxy. Most of the design for it already exits with the 1.25m LF tank and the mk2 cargo bay, so why not merge two designs and add this one part for all to enjoy!
Kerbals in the Service Bay - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Jun 26, 2015 · I tried a stuffing Kerbals into service bays, but it doesn't work well. Even the large one, although there is plenty room, they can't seem to be able to get inside. If you have a seat inside, you can right click and "board" it, and he will sit there, but this makes the service bay behave weird, start wobbling, sometimes blowing up.

Service Bay Help - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Jul 16, 2015 · A science Jr. inside a 2.5 service bay. As soon as the rocket was loaded at the launch pad, all he'll broke loose! Sparks flying, rattling noises and BOOOM. I believe that the culprit is the fact that the bay has 4 nodes. 2 on the ends outside and 2 inside. Somehow we must have attached our science Jr. to the outer node, and it clipped inside ...
