Sean Matsuda (ショーン・マツダ/松田 Shōn Matsuda?) is a video game character from the Street Fighter series, first appearing in Street Fighter III: New Generation. He is a confident amateur martial artist from Brazil who meets Ken and eventually becomes his disciple, and the younger brother of Laura.

Sean should definitely be in this game tho and could still become a rival to Luke and Jamie. I hope they put him in and remix his movement so he’s a really speedy character, would be a good opposite to Luke and is a nod back at Ken being the faster version of Ryu.

Sakura and Sean are both in college during SF6, whereas she was a young schoolgirl in the Alpha series. She's definitely qualified for the New Generation era

Mar 12, 2023 · I honestly think Sean is guaranteed to be in SF6 at some point, they even paid homage to him with the parry minigame in the World Tour trailer. I suspect that him and Laura will be brought back in one of the DLCs, they're both popular amongst fans and more importantly, fit the SF6 aesthetic perfectly.

May 23, 2024 · Sean is 27 (real-time canonically) and if you're telling me he's still gonna be the underbalanced F rank he was in 3rd strike (25 years ago), you're ridiculous. He probably trained with Oro after Ken neglected their training, learned Senjutsu, and took his half his moveset.

Sean is a joke character. SF3's version of Dan. He was never meant to be anything other than a joke. Luke is way cooler, and more likeable after SF6.
