Saito Hiraga (平賀才人, Hiraga Saito), later known as Saito Chevalier de Hiraga (才人·シュヴァリエ·ド·平賀, Saitō Shuvuariē do Hiraga) when he got his noble status, is the familiar spirit of Louise de la Vallière and is otherwise known as Gandálfr (ᚷᚢᚾᛞᛟᛚᚠ, lit. God's Left Hand).

Saito Hiraga, the main male character, is from Earth (specifically Tokyo, Japan). At the time of the summoning, he had just picked up his laptop after attempting to get it repaired in Akihabara. A portal of some kind opened in front of him; and Saito's curiosity getting the better of him, he touched it and was sucked through.

Louise is Saito's main love interest throughout the series. In season 2, It is revealed that Saito is in love with Louise and even confesses it to her. Louise didn't say it verbally, but both know she feels the same way for Saito.

By the end of season 2, Saito is happy to return to Louise alive, although she whips him for making her drink sleeping potion and mentioning an elf with big breasts. From this point, Saito is granted the title of knighthood and goes on equal grounds with the noble students at the Academy (becoming an actual student there).

Saito Hiraga is an average boy with average grades living an average life, waiting for something to come his way. Or rather, he used to be. After being summoned into another world to a petite pink-haired mage, he was given a mark of a familiar, to which he is then.
