The EMC E4 was a 2,000 horsepower (1,500 kW), A1A-A1A passenger train-hauling diesel locomotive built by the Electro-Motive Corporation of La Grange, Illinois. All were built for the Seaboard Air Line Railway.

Aug 27, 2024 · The E4 was built in 1938-1939, and along with the E3 was the first such model to feature a GM prime mover (the model 567) and not a Winton engine. The E4 featured two 12-cylinder 567s enabling it to produce 2,000 horsepower.
