The SIG MP 41 (although it was predated by the MK33 and MK37 from the 1930s) was a Straight Forward blow back. The weapon was made of forged steel which made it heavy to carry and handle but the firearm worked well.

It was designed by Georgy Shpagin of the Soviet Union to be a cheaper and simplified alternative to the PPD-40. The PPSh-41 saw extensive combat during World War II and the Korean War.

This submachine gun fired the worldwide-standard 9mm Parabellum cartridge (1,312fps muzzle velocity) from a 40-round detachable box magazine. The MP 41 measured 2’8″ long and weighed 9 ½ lbs. The receiver was a solid piece of forged steel.
