Ruger American comp is #3 on my "check them out" list for a decent budget comp pistol. No Walthers No Sig No HK And I'm on the fence about the S&W mp9 2.0 Looking for experiences.

I am particularly wondering about the 17 round 9mm magazines they use. I am asking because magazine extensions do not exist for the SR series...

Sep 6, 2011 · I own a SR9, super happy with it, Ghost trigger in it. Everyone that owns it loves it. But its not a competition gun like the MP9. What would it take to make it a top competition gun, or is it like turning a pickup into a NASCAR, can it happen at all?

Nov 6, 2014 · I sold an XD9 and bought an SR9, a mistake, they are both striker fired, with the SR9 trigger pull being like a Glock, which is about like firing a double-action pistol in double action. The XD9 had a much shorter, crisper trigger. The S&W MP9 I had also had much shorter, crisper trigger pull than the SR9. Jul 16, 2012 · And its slimmer and better fitting than the Glock. And the MP9 kit (three mags, holster and magazine pouches) all come for about $500. So over all its the best deal out there. If you are serious about competing look at the MP9. If your just enjoying shooting, the SR9 will be a great choice and wont dissapoint you. Search this forum for MP9 vs SR9.
