It would seem I can't simply insert the "Room Number" parameter into any tag that is not a room tag, likewise I can't seem to incorporate the "Room Number" parameter as part of a model family, even with the Room Calculation Point turned on.

Aug 2, 2021 · It's easy to create your own room tag. Just draw the box, add a few pieces of text (name, number, width, depth, X). Then use the create tag tool. Before you do that, have you bothered to look in the "documentation tool catalog - imperial" under schedule tags<room tags? I would try the room tag with dimensions before creating my own.

Dec 9, 2015 · You're right that room schedules in the host model don't allow you to highlight the room in a linked file. But you can create Spaces that correspond to the rooms, and search for them using the schedule as you would search for a room in the architectural model.
