Best big block book - Team Chevelle
Mar 25, 2005 · He strongly felt that the blocks were better designed and had less problems. The other item to watch for is if you plan on using a Mech pump or not. As only certain years had the mechanical fuel pump boss. On the Big Block book, I agree with Robert, especially since you have already built several small blocks.

Who's running a Super T-10 with major power? | Team Chevelle
Dec 6, 2002 · Just wondering who is running major power through a Super T-10 4 speed. I am shopping for a replacement for the m-21 that twisted its case and cracked the cluster gear. The richmond 4 speeds are not rated over 400 ft lbs of torque but wonder who is exceeding that limit with no problems.
Hydraulic roller lifter noise - Team Chevelle
Dec 19, 2008 · Robert, some cams are just noisier than others, plain and simple. Example, I have a Lunati HR in my 454. Its loud. I changes out the GM lifters for Cranes. No change. Made adjustments in every direction, again no change. So I change out the cam for a much bigger Comp 245/252. Little quieter, not much though.
Should I Run a Thermostat - Team Chevelle
Dec 5, 2008 · Put in a Robert Shaw and forget about it. The temperature you choose is another issue. More modern head designs, like FAST burn in a small block, do much better at 190F than at 160F. I don't know about big blocks. The Robert Shaw designs have more flow than regular designs and are fail safe (won't fail shut).
