RSL Australia currently has over 148,000 members. Being a member of the RSL provides a sense of belonging and involvement in Australia’s largest veteran community.

The Returned and Services League of Australia, also known as RSL, RSL Australia and the RSLA, is an independent support organisation for people who have served or are serving in the Australian Defence Force.

To understand the difference between RSL clubs and RSL sub-branches, it's important to understand the structure of the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) the largest veteran charity in Australia, and how membership of the League varies from state to state.

The RSL State, District and Sub-branches across the nation provide a broad range of welfare and wellbeing services, programs and events for current and former ADF members and their families. RSL Memberships are managed by State Branches.

Service Membership of the RSL is for anyone who is currently serving or has served in the ADF or any of Australia’s allied armed forces. Service membership offers serving and ex-serving personnel mateship and comradeship with others of similar life experiences.

The RSL membership year is from January 1 to December 31. Annual subscriptions are due on January 1 and need to be paid to your sub branch before February 28 each year. Membership starts from as little as $20 per year and the benefits and services the RSL can offer are endless.

RSL SA offers a free 12 month first-time membership to all Australian Defence Force serving Regular and Reserve personnel, who are not current or previous RSL members. Refer to the membership form below.

Feb 23, 2024 · When you sign up to become a member of the RSL in Victoria, you will receive a membership card and a range of communications, depending on your membership type. Local Sub-Branches often run special events, promotions and opportunities that are available exclusively to RSL members.
