Feb 5, 2023 · When charging the Switch from off or flat battery, the Switch will automatically goes into RCM mode (for Auto-RCM). Once charger plugged out. Internal RCMloader will automatically kicks in and inject the payload. It is recommended to use Auto-RCM (activated from Hekate). But if user not preferring it, Rail Jig or Joycon Mod is needed.

May 25, 2020 · Do I place this on the RCM injector within the atmosphere folder instead of the fusee-primary.bin? Do I use one of the free user slots on the payload injector? And inject this first before injecting atmosphere? Do I replace the reboot_payload.bin within the atmosphere folder on the SD card with this and just inject the atmosphere payload?

Jan 24, 2019 · No, you would need the jig to put the Switch into RCM, an injector is optional, but if you want the "portability" of it, then Yes you would need something to inject the payload like the TX SX Pro for instance. Either that or you'll have to use your PC to inject the payload. Auto-RCM allows you to boot a payload without having to use a jig.

In hekate you can enable autorcm so the switch boots into rcm mode without a jig. Then I just taped a raspberry pi to the back of my switch and had it run a script to send the hekate payload to my switch whenever it's detected. There's much better ways to do that such as using a trinket m0 as a modchip but this was just me fucking around.

The micro USB cable is for editing the files on the injector. The injector seems to have 2 states when plugged into a computer "charging with a white slow pulsing light and data transfer a colored flashing light" I've had the injector go into the charging state when plugged in. Just unplugging it and plugging it back in seemed to fix it.

Aug 16, 2021 · I’m aware of RCM loaders, just thought it may be possible to skip the injector and use a usb. Looking at the trinket you mention it became obvious that boot loaders need more that usb computing. Thank-you for the info (´･ᴗ･ ` )

Aug 23, 2023 · And since you can use Hekate to launch other RCM payloads, you can pretty much see why payload injector manufacturers cut out otherwise redundant features. Meanwhile, if your battery is constantly dying, it's time to replace the battery. You can get a replacement with the necessary tools for around 20 USD on Amazon.

Jun 8, 2018 · The watchdog script will wait for a switch in RCM mode to be plugged in, then execute fusee-launcher targeting a payload at /boot/nx/payload.bin allowing it to be changed at a Windows computer (because boot partition isnt ext4) Feel free to submit a PR if you have any issues, or submit an issue.
