Nov 13, 2019 · Personally, I'm not a fan of that technique, as it seems more akin to 'breaking' the bird's will than building a bond of trust. Allowing the bird to gradually come to trust you at his/her own pace may take longer, but I think it yields a stronger bond in the long run. From the start I (thought) he was amazing friendly, because he had flew out of his cage well trying to put him in and instantly stepped up with no issue. And crawled up my arm to shoulder before I could put him back in. And went right off and into his cage. He was quite and a good bird.

Jun 4, 2013 · I recently got a 2 mo Quaker parrot baby. He still eats baby bird food and I feed him 3 times a day. The problem is that whenever I try to take him out of his cage, he gets scared of my hands/fingers and try to run away. But he is tamed and I have no problem once I take him out of his cage. I can hand feed him, touch him. He even sleeps in my hand.

My parents are discussing about rehoming our quaker due to the noise that he's making. Goes on loud squawking tangents throughout the day and in the evening.
