The Battle of Khaybar (Arabic: غَزْوَة خَيْبَر) was an armed confrontation between the early Muslims and the Jewish community of Khaybar in 628 CE. Khaybar, which is located approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) to the northwest of Medina, was home to a sizable community of Jewish tribes. [4][5]

Khaybar[note 1] (Arabic: خَيْبَر, IPA: [ˈxajbar]) is an oasis in Medina Province, Saudi Arabia, situated some 153 kilometres (95 mi) north of the city of Medina. Prior to the arrival of Islam in the 7th century, the area had been inhabited by Arabian Jewish tribes until it fell to Muslims under Muhammad during the Battle of Khaybar in 628 CE.

Battle of Khaybar (Arabic: غَزْوَة خَیْبَر) was a battle or ghazwa by the Prophet Muhammad (s) against Jews of Khaybar region that began in Muharram of 7 /May 628 and ended with the victory of Muslims in Safar of the same year.

“And He rewarded them with a speedy victory” (Surah Al-Fath 48:18) Khaibar is an agricultural oasis situated approximately 160 KM the north of Madinah. Some scholars say that the battle of Khaibar took place in the 6th year of Hijrah (migration of Muslims from Makkah to Madinah), approx. 628 CE.
