Feb 1, 2016 · I’ve been thinking a bit about how to teach players to poach lately and got excited when I noticed a heads-up poach block by Eli Kerns after reviewing some footage. I wanted to highlight this specific play because it is one of the easiest ways that a player new to poaching can generate more blocks off of a horizontal stack.

Poaching is a term used to describe one or more players temporarily leaving their match up to strategically cover space in an otherwise person-to-person defensive scheme.
