Aug 17, 2005 · I have a 2000 B5 1.8tm and I've only had a chance to sit in the "B6" Passat. The exterior styling is very nice overall. It's different from previous VW styling, but it works well and everything fits together nicely.

Thanks to the transverse engine layout, there couldn't be another W8, but the powertrains on offer were very solid. In place of the W8, VW gave the B6 Passat a 3.6-liter VR6.
