This was one of the first epic OFMD fics I read as it was released, as well as one of my first intros to the fandom. I had no idea that was a thing, a serial story released chapter by chapter. So very happy to be recording this as a podfic to share this wonderful story with an even wider audience!

Welcome Aboard the Revenge! In 1717, Stede Bonnet, an aristocratic pirate, abandons his comfortable life and sets sail aboard the Revenge during the Golden Age of Piracy. Despite having little skill for his role as Captain of the Revenge, Bonnet departs with an honest crew.

Parents as People: He never chose to marry or have kids, but we see him playing pirates with Louis and Alma and he clearly loves them very much. Unfortunately, the hostility from his loveless marriage spills over into disputes about parenting, tainting those relationships as well.

May 9, 2023 · I’m interested if David Jenkins has ever discussed the reasoning behind Stede and Mary in OFMD having two children (Alma and Louis). I’m definitely NOT expecting complete historical accuracy. Just wondering where the name Louis came from and the thinking behind having only two children.
