May 11, 2023 · Oakum can be hard to find, usually you have to get it special ordered from a business that supplies stuff for restoration/old houses. It will be more expensive than what you can find at a modern hardware store.

To do it right, you need to soak the oakum in urethane before pressing down into the cracks, and you would ideally use a thin enough strip of oakum that it doesn’t stick out over the the top of the boards.

I rang the Australian Medical Council (AMC), and they assure me in no uncertain terms that the OUM in NOT accredited with them and that OUM graduates are definately NOT permitted to sit the AMC exams!!!
