Remarks: Described as "a most absurd-looking dwarf" or "a mere mite, a veritable toy Locomotive", they did surprisingly good work in branch-line and shunting duties. Once written off by NZR, they were put to good use by collieries, timber mills, freezing works, and harbour boards.

Dübs Works No 647 Class A 67 0-4-0T New Zealand Railway …
This locomotive (A67) was built by Dübs in Glasgow in 1873 for service with the NZR. It served with the NZR until 1891 when it was sold to the Hokonui Coal Company. It only remained there until 1892 when it was repurchased by the NZR. It was withdrawn from service with the NZR again in 1896 and sold to Lovells Flat Coal Company.
