The site that was operational in the early 20th century is now partly surrounded by Wollemi National Park. [2] . The settlement was originally built by the Commonwealth Oil Corporation.

It lies only 3 hours from Australia’s biggest city and less than an hour from the (relatively) large town of Lithgow on the western side of the Blue Mountains.
