Niobium pentoxide is the inorganic compound with the formula Nb 2 O 5. A colorless, insoluble, and fairly unreactive solid, it is the most widespread precursor for other compounds and materials containing niobium.

Nb2O5 crystallizes in the orthorhombic P2_12_12_1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Nb5+ sites. In the first Nb5+ site, Nb5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing NbO4 tetrahedra.
