The RB engines are derived from the six-cylinder L20A engine, which has the same bore and stroke as the RB20. All RB engines were made in Yokohama, Japan where the VR38DETT engine was made. Some RB engines were rebuilt by Nissan's NISMO division at the Omori Factory in Tokyo as well.

The RB20 is a four-stroke engine that uses standard gasoline. It was produced by Nissan between 1985 and 2004. There are two versions of this engine, which are an SOHC and a DOHC.

Head is free as are most other components. Some of the things I have considered and would like to see discussed include: - Higher compression running on E85 (how high can you go?)

Oct 16, 2008 · There are NA RB20 , RB25. They aren't that powerful in stock form NA. 2.0 liter , 2.5 liter engine. The VQ is a different animal. Its a much newer more efficient engine. There are plenty way over 1k in power. The VQ head flows better stock than a worked RB, or for that matter 2JZ head. There is really no argument.

Dec 3, 2012 · I am shooting for a stock RB20 with a tune that will just let it be what it wants to be(higher red line and no speed governor, better fuel maps, etc.). But stock size turbo, well built. Building an N/A Rb20 is more of a novelty.
