If there is no NVidia Control Panel icon showing when you click on the up arrow then select the customize option and do as I said above. It is all the same as Windows 7 really when in Desktop.

The icon you want to use has to be on the HDD in a Folder, usually in the same Folder as the file, and you'd choose that icon. It's best to save the icon as a .ico file and adhere to the size limit for it, can't be very large.
