Here, we address the prelimbic cortex (PrL), the infralimbic cortex (IL), and the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) as mPFC subregions, which correspond to the human pregenual and subgenual ACC (Brodmann Areas 32 and 25), and the midcingulate cortex (Brodmann Area 24), respectively .
