My third graders absolutely love this story and all walk away with an incredible memory and understanding of where states are on a blank map of the US. Many adults can’t complete a blank map, but my third graders can (and me too!) because of this story. Great work Anna Davenport!

It’s an old gag but it still amuses me, and it always unburies the age-old question. Do the states make Mimal or does Mimal make the states?
