I am trying to use my HTPC with only a keyboard. Even though my keyboard is from Microsoft, they failed basic windows certification and did not include a menu-key, the one that shows a mouse cursor and a menu, usually located on the right of the space bar, between alt and control. without that i can't do many actions.

Feb 9, 2024 · Recently the Windows Key / Start-button (below) ceases to respond to either mouse click or key press. The windows key works when using keyboard shortcuts such as Winkey+R to bring up Run prompt. Also Winkey+Shift+S works to trigger the snip tool program. The search box works fine as well. Winkey+I does nothing so I think it is a start menu issue.

Mar 10, 2025 · The menu button (the one with 3 dashes) of 2 of my xbox copntrollers stopped working. Bith controllers are up to date and fully working except for the menu button. I connected to a newer Xbox SX and to my pc via usb dongle and same result, the menu button is unresponsive on both controllers.
