Canadian-born Chris Greenwood, also known as Manafest, began his music career by performing at churches, prisons, and everywhere in between. Known for infusing hip-hop and rock music, Manafest decided to focus on his rap career after getting in a skateboarding accident in 1998.

In 2001, Chris debuted his first EP, Mislead Youth, under the name Manafest. The EP garnered "Modern Rock/Alternative Song of the Year" for the song "Freedom" at the GMA Canada Covenant Awards. And over the next 12 years, he experienced unprecedented success.
