The 259 is the standard for antenna analysis and components; that's the good news. the bad news is their service which is almost non-existent. I have had MFJ products for decades and their service was acceptable but that was then and now their repair service is awful!

MFJ 259B HF/VHF SWR analyzers are compact, battery-powered RF impedance analyzers. They combine four basic circuits; a 1.8-170 MHz variable frequency oscillator, a frequency counter, a 50 ohm RF bridge, and an 8-bit micro-controller.

Even so, the MFJ 259B is a great performer for HF and VHF antenna analysis. Time Owned: more than 12 months. Bought this directly from MFJ. It worked for a short while and then began to throw up ridiculous readings. I built the VK5JST unit and they have totally different readings.
