Feb 23, 2025 · Hello, I want to make MCU1 to MCU2 upgrade on my Tesla model S 2017 with AP 2.0. Does this upgrade also includes hardware upgrade to AP3 and Cameras upgrade?

Dec 9, 2024 · For MCU, they have MCU/1, MCU/2, and MCU/3. For Auto Pilot computers, they had AP1, AP2, AP 2.5, AP3 and AP4 with AP5 coming in the following years. What you have purchased is MCU/2. I'm guessing you have the older AP2 or AP2.5 which should have been upgraded to AP3 or can still be upgraded to AP3.

Nov 22, 2017 · 2017 S100d FSD. Under Warranty. I went in for the eMMC replacement and due to chronic WiFi connectivity issues am having a replacement MCU1 installed. Part says MCU NA PREMIUM-Hardware 2.0/2.5/3.0 -Remanufactured Has anyone had this done? Can i expect any improvement in overall MCU1 function?

I assume that everyone with the MCU/2 (Intel based) could purchase an optional MCU/3 with the AMD processor some time in a distant future once the Intel is determined to be EOL, but like the MCU/1, it may be 6 to 7 years from now. No reason to worry about that now.
