wth M-Sand is produced from hard granite stone by crushing. M-sand can contain larger amounts of fine particles than natural sand, this can affect the strength and workability of the concrete and this fine particles are dumped as a waste by-product called M- Sand dust.
Prospects of sustainable geotechnical applications of manufactured sand …
Oct 12, 2023 · The slurry obtained during the washing of mined quarry sand (also called as M Sand Slurry or MSS) is found to be disposed as mining waste causing environmental pollution.
the main factors affecting the durability of concrete is quality of fine aggregate in the concrete. A Manufactured sand (M-Sand) processed from selected quality of granite, with balanced physical and chemical properties will help in r
About 40% of slurry is wasted during the production of M-sand in quarries over which 60% has M-sand materials. The potential function of waste slurry for producing a low cost and light weight composite brick can easily available in quarries.
Suitability of M-Sand Dust in Civil Engineering Application
Thus, the main objective of this study is to find the suitability of M-sand silt in civil engineering application by conducting tests such as grain size distribution, specific gravity, standard proctor test, permeability test, direct shear and CBR test.
Application of M-sand waste as a substitute to granular soil for ...
Nov 15, 2024 · In this work, MSD and MSS have been used as a replacement to 3 types of granular soil: Silty Sand (SM), M-Sand and River Sand, which is generally preferred for filling purpose in embankments, retaining walls, earth reinforcement walls etc.
Sustainable Approach for Using M-Sand Slurry as a Controlled …
Dec 31, 2023 · The present study deals with the feasibility of regenerating the silt fraction of M-Sand, known as M Sand Slurry (MSS), to be used for the creation of flowable fills. Mix proportions are developed based on the plastic and mechanical properties …
Effect of M-sand sludge on the properties of bricks
Dec 15, 2023 · During the production process of M sand, a waste material in the colloidal state, which can be named M Sand Sludge (MSS), is being produced and left unused. The present study focuses on the utilisation of the M sand sludge waste in the production of brick.

M-sand production involves different sand-washing techniques which lead to the slurry type waste material (Sand Washing Waste or SWW). The innovative usage of recycled materials is the priority to minimize the depletion of natural resources.
The current study investigates the potential for reusing the M-sand residue by using it as a partial replacement material in fly ash bricks. Due to limited availability of natural resources and rapid urbanization, there is a shortfall of conventional building construction materials.
