Mar 5, 2025 · The serial number and how early it is doesn't matter for Yamaha 62 like it does for Selmer Mark VI (although it doesn't matter as much as some would have believe in a MK VI either). With the 62 you have the MK1 that started with a Purple logo and at the end of its run the logo is stamped.

Oct 19, 2021 · There is a local store that has a new YTS-62 available for $3K, but a seller on CL recently offered me a Purple Logo for $2,500. He says it was recently adjusted and oiled. He didn't mention the pads specifically, but tells me the horn itself is in very good condition.

This early model purple logo YTS-62 (serial 012*** believed to be 1980) shows lots of scuffs, scratches, tiny dents and also what looks like a repair to the neck. Pleased to say none of this stops this horn from playing as good as any other out there, thanks to a recent re-pad and service.

Yamaha’s purple logo saxophones are very sought after for their amazing build quality, and tonal properties. Cosmetically the saxophone is in great condition, there are very minor scratches on the back of the body and very minor lacquer wear on the neck.

Jan 17, 2021 · I recently got a YTS-62 Mk1 - it’s basically the same as a Pruple Logo, but on mine the logo is stamped instead of stencilled and it has a tilting table. I love it - as @DavidUK said, it displaced my Grassi Professional 2000, which was itself an outstanding horn and which had displaced my previous Yanagisawa 991 and seen off a Selmer Mk Vll.
