Jun 12, 2015 · the harbor freight dolly? for 100 bucks it seems like the best deal. I have a pipe fitter friend who i was just talking to about building an arbor trolley, he said he has a bunch of 3/8 angle we could weld together to make box tubing for the main part and use the rest of the angle iron for the supports. i took out a dead maple for his mom last week so he kinda owes me.

Dec 8, 2003 · To get the log on the dolly I used a loop of rope around one end of the log and a heavy duty bumper jack to lift one end of the log about a foot or so off the ground. I then rolled the dolly under and lowered the log . Cant hooks and a few 2x12`s would work nicely too. The dolly is only 7 or 8 inches high so the ramp angle would be small.

Apr 20, 2022 · Around here the woods are tight and using a tractor in them is not easy. So what I’m thinking is build a log arch/sulky seat and a log dolly for the other end to wheel the logs out of the wood lot with a walk behind tractor.

May 22, 2014 · By the way, the Arbor Trolley seems to be the more innovative and versatile tool (between it and the log dolly), which makes me want to buy one. However, I do a fair amount of planting. Therefore, I would use the log dolly like a ball cart almost as much as I would for hauling wood. Can the Arbor Trolley be used for moving large B&B trees?

Mar 25, 2006 · Log dolly works OK if you're on improved ground but if you're hauling stuff out of the woods or on rough ground it gets pretty tough. I took down 3 silver maples and 11 30' cherry trees out of a mowed field in the rain this week with a log dolly. Worked OK but it was a long slight uphill grade and my legs are shot.

May 17, 2008 · Log dolly works much better than a standard hand truck, has more leverage to lift with the high handle and can carry twice the load. That equals less trips. Pulling the thing uphill is a bear, but downhill works great. They work great for moving new trees around also. B&B fit nice into the round design.
